Story
This boy has always lived ahead of his time. While other babies ruined different objects at home, little Ned carefully dismantled and reassembled electrical appliances discovering new and scary combinations. As he grew up, he fixed, improved and created new items to his mother. Meanwhile, his ambitious father planned a profitable career as an inventor to his gifted son.
In school, he was a frustrated boy. To a genius like him, the classes were boring and he felt numb because of the intellectual abyss that separated him from his classmates. Ned got used to being pampered for his creations. At school, he was treated as a freak by other students. It didn’t take long to the bullies start harassing him, specially the school’s athletes. The fact helped nurturing his aversion to any kind of sports.
After terrible times in school, he managed to acquire permission to join university before the required age, where he thought he would be able to develop his potential.
There, the genius started to be tutored by Professor Ernest Andersen, who was able to explain the boy’s gift: full eidetic memory. Ned was able to remember, minutely, anything he had already seen before, from texts to object parts.
He received the news with a mix of feelings, since the singularity of this talent was fascinating, but, at the same time, it gave him the impression that he did not quite have to strain himself to attain results. For a genius, this made the creation challenge a lot less exciting.
This led the young boy into a reclusion period to decide how to use his ability in a fair and challenging way. He decided that the best option was to quit university, even without his tutor’s approval, and start a career as an independent inventor.
All this happened in a period of worldwide technological decay. Earth’s population was growing in a frightening way and its rulers were attached to old traditions. Many world leaders started to keep an eye on Ned’s work, always with a disapproval look. It didn’t take long for the boy, and his goal of boosting the planet’s technological
evolution, to be seen as a threat to world peace.
Personality
He is a naïve young boy, sweet and always well intentioned, who lives for the benefit of the good technological advances, never looking for glory or fame.
Ned nurtures an unyielding aversion to sports, due to memories of school time. In addition to that, his huge naivety has allowed evil-minded to persuade him to create items unaware of their real purpose.
The boy genius easily gets bored of his inventions. He is always after a new challenge, obviously much more complex than the previous one. The boy does it in an almost obsessive way.
Abilities
Ned is completely incapable to engage in combat, as for his body structure, as for his aversion to physical feats. The boy would certainly build a machine that could protect him, instead of going into a fight.
The young genius does not carry any weapons since he is not prepared, physically and emotionally, for combat.
His eidetic memory can be considered a superhuman ability, which origin has not been explained yet.
